Depressing Quotes Depressing Quotes and Sayings depressing life quotes and sayings depressing quotes about love

There is something quite beautiful about us, we human beings. You know what is that? It is the ability to create music even from the most painful sighs of adversity and grief. We almost pride in it, truly British like, raising our head after being getting bruised and battered by moments that have our backs against the wall. This ‘never say die’ spirit is what makes these depressing quotes and sayings even more substantial; giving us the fuel to carry with life even in the hardest times of adversity.

I still remember these lovely lines I read once in a book, they said, ‘Never judge a person’s true character under the glare of lights. You will only find his true colors on a pitch dark street, where no body is there to watch his actions, and he is only driven by his conscience as his guide. ‘This saying has always made great sense to me in many aspects of life. If you look deeper into it, it translates into so many things. It is just amazing how it can unfold into so many meanings when looked at from different viewpoints.

Let’s look at it in this way that if there was no night, we would never have appreciated the beauty of a golden dawn on the horizon. Similarly, if there was no grief, we would never have felt so elated in the happy moments of our life. It is all so relative in context to each other, day and night, happiness and grief, togetherness and longing and so many other contrasting emotions that compliment each other in such a strange way.

There is another very nice quote by Sir Winston Churchill which says, ‘Solitary trees, if they grow at all, grow strong.’ Even this saying has lot of moods and contrasts about it in the sense that it initially wonders at the prospect of a solitary tree being able to grow at all. And then it contrasts with an astute finish in expecting the tree to grow strong in the context of his solitary struggle for survival.

If we look at it in a larger sense, we will come to know why such depressing quotes and sayings have such a positive effect on our lives. It is almost as if we tend to identify the pain in these sayings with the one that we are facing in our lives. And this sense of identifying with famous people’s saying actually brings us to feel at par with those great men. And then we say, okay, it also happened to them, who knows, I might as well as be headed to go down the history same way as they did. And we rise up and walk again after falling.
